This project explores perception as something fractured, multiplied, and reassembled. Inspired by a long-standing fascination with reflective surfaces, Through the Looking Layer examines the tension between what we see and what is real.
Using angled mirrors, refractive props, and optical distortions, the studio-based series turns the model into a fragmented subject — sometimes doubled, sometimes dissolving, always altered. Her image becomes unstable: warped, scattered, and reshaped by light and reflection.
These visuals create a space where the familiar feels strange — a mirror-world where identity is fluid, and reality is never fixed. The series invites viewers to question what lies beneath the surface of appearances, and how much of what we see is shaped by illusion.
